Materials

  • Welded Steel: A common alloy of iron and carbon whose carbon content varies up to 2 percent. MIG welding is used, allowing for precise lines.

  • Powder Coating and Metal Pretreatment: Zirconium substrate pretreatment used for maximum corrosion resistance extended lifetime in outdoors environments. A 7-stage system and a zinc primer prior to the application of the color top coat, with lead-free polyester-based powders, is used. Highly resistant to humidity and sunlight.

  • PVC Rope: PVC is a durable material that is resistant to weathering. Lightweight, durable, flexible, and easy to process. Added UV protectant, highly resistant to humidity and sunlight.

  • Textile Rope: Specially designed textile rope using a fabric covering made out of polyester. Resistant to humidity and sunlight.

  • Synthetic Palm: Made of polyethylene raw material, it developed specially for furniture use. Weather resistant, can be used outdoors. Resistant to humidity and sunlight.

  • Natural Palm Fiber: Specially harvested off along the Mexican pacific coastline. Threaded by twisting and interlocking the largest leaves, applying a certain amount of moisture. For indoor use.

  • Natural Wicked Fiber: Made of rattan fiber. A water based lacquer is applied as sealant. For indoor use.

  • Leather: Durable, longevity

  • Wood: Utilize responsibly sourced woods, specifically: Teak, Cumarú and Rosamorada. TWP sealants are applied for longevity. Although suitable for outdoor use, recommend covering when not in use.

  • Sunbrella Fabric: Used for all upholstery. 100% solution-dyed acrylic. Breathable and UV, water, mildew and stain resistant. For cushions, use a waterproof inner cover that protects the foam filling from moisture, making the cushion completely suitable for outdoor use.

Production Waste

No toxic emissions during production.

Mainly produce 2 kinds of waste (metal and weave materials):

  • Metal scraps are collected and sold to specialized companies for recycling

  • Plastic cord is recycled by Mexa to make hoses that are used as a component for the manufacture of fabric cord 

Warranty, Repairability, End of Life

2 year warranty for manufacturing defects

All Mexa products are recyclable in the case of metal frames and synthetic / plastic cords, and all natural cords (organic materials) are biodegradable

Packaging

All Mexa packaging is recyclable and biodegradable in the case of cardboard boxes and protections, or only recyclable in the case of plastic film and plastic protections.
